Gainsight is a customer success platform that gives post-sale teams a unified view of customer health, engagement, and product usage to drive retention and expansion. Its flagship product is Gainsight CS, with a separate Gainsight PX for product experience analytics.

What an AI role does with your Gainsight data

A role works the records you already keep in Gainsight, governed and scoped to the job it is hired for.

Records it works with

  • companies and customers
  • scorecards
  • calls to action (CTAs)
  • playbooks
  • success plans
  • timeline activities
  • surveys
  • customer 360

What it can do

  • read and query customer records
  • insert and update company records
  • sync data via the Bulk API or S3 connector
  • manage users
  • delete records by GSID

Common questions

Does an AI role need its own Gainsight account?
No. The role connects through Gainsight's API using Access Key, generated by an admin and passed in the request header (one per org, does not expire), or OAuth 2.0 supporting both an authorization-code flow and machine-to-machine tokens, with the access your team grants. There is nothing to replatform.
What can an AI role do with our Gainsight data?
It works with companies and customers, scorecards, calls to action (CTAs), playbooks, success plans, timeline activities, surveys, and customer 360, and can read and query customer records, insert and update company records, sync data via the Bulk API or S3 connector, manage users, and delete records by GSID. Each role is scoped to only the records and actions its job needs.
Is the connection to Gainsight governed?
Yes. Every action a role takes in Gainsight is logged and reviewable, under defined human oversight, with a full audit trail.
